Bob Givens who was credited for animating the Warner Brothers Studios most well animated character Bugs Bunny passed away on December 14, 2017 at the age of 99 due to acute respiratory failure.

Not many people know this for a fact since animators do not get the recognition from the mainstream media due to their work behind the scenes of making cartoons like some actors and actresses who I would not know from a hole in the wall who do the character voices of our favorite cartoon characters.

Givens is credited for creating the look of Bugs Bunny when he was employed by Warner Brothers Studios in 1940 to change the Bugs Bunny  character from looking like Daffy Duck to the animated rabbit that was known for creating troubles for his rivals like Daffy Duck and Elmer Fudd to name a few of his rivals.

Givens entered the animation business after his graduation from high school to work for Walt Disney Studios working on the characters Donald Duck and Snow White as their animator in 1937.

Givens spent 60 years in show business animating the cartoons characters like Popeye The Sailor Man, Tom And Jerry and Alvin And The Chipmunks during his tenure in show business as an animator.

Givens served in World War II which took away some of his time doing animated work until the war ended in 1945 when Givens returned to animate cartoon characters that have entertained children and adults alike.

Rest in peace Bob Givens. You went the distance. Your work as an animator will last for many years to come.
