71st Emmy Afterparties 2019

Late Sunday Night, 9.22.19 until Very Early Monday morning…

Many afterparties have been cancelled due to the writers/agents conflict.

Amazon Afterparty was at the Chateau Marmont in WeHo. Minnie Driver was at the Amazon party, dressed in a leather or pleather minidress and matching clutch with spiky studs. Jane Lynch posed for snapshots.

At the HBO Afterparty, Heidi Klum didn’t want to be bothered, but Naomi Watts stopped to chat. It was at WeHo, as well. Kathy Griffin, Melissa Joan Hart,

The feast at the Emmys Afterparties consisting of sliders, milkshakes, and liquor.

The Governor’s Ball was at LA Live Event Deck in LA, where hors d’oeuvres were floating around on trays carried by waiters. Foods include paella Valencia, red wine braised short rib, yellowtail sashimi, tomato tartare, Japanese eggplant, brussels sprouts frites, green salad, street-corn ravioli, slider of crab cake and other varieties, vegan raspberry chia seed tapioca, snickerdoodle blondies, and warm butterscotch budino. Some cocktails included Dapper Dragon and Marvelous Mule.

Moreover, the HBO and WarnerMedia party was at The Plaza hotel, in the Pacific Design Center, while Disney-Fox Camp Soiree—ABC, FX, National Geographic and Hulu—met at Otium in Downtown LA. There was also BAFTA and BBC party, who met at Beverly Hilton’s Poolside, enjoying British tea sandwiches, egg and cress salad, curry chicken salad, white English cheddar, smoked salad sandwiches, and quiches. Cocktails included Ketel One Mule, Primm’s Cup, and Tanqueray and Tonic.

Comedy Central afterparty took place in the Highlight Room at Dream Hotel. Besides hors d’oeuvres, which included Chilean sea bass, chicken satay, skewers, beef sliders, truffle mac and cheese, salmon sushi rolls, vegetarian sushi rolls, and spring pea hummus. Sipping cocktails on the rooftop, as they nibbled on tuna, salmon or tofu with sesame seeds, scallions, chopped fruit, and sliced veggies, or street tacos with either chicken, carne asada, or vegan meat, they partied until 10:30 pm, when they decided to burn off the food on the dance floor to DJs.

The Showtime Afterparty was at San Vicente Bungalows, where the celebrities enjoyed shrimp cocktails, lamp chops, cheeseburgers, meat buffet, kebabs, and salads.

AMC Networks Brunch was at Cecconi in WeHo. They enjoyed a traditional brunch buffet of mushroom frittatas, bacon, French toast, eggplant parmesan, salad, small meatballs, potato pancakes, avocado toast wedges, as well as drinking Bellini.

The Hollywood Reporter and SAG-AFTRA afterparty was at Avra in Beverly Hills. They enjoyed gulf shrimp, clams, lobster, Greek food, haloumi cheese, tuna tartare, Chilean sea bass skewers, honey balsamic salmon hors d’oeuvres. For desserts, they enjoyed almond baklava and Greek yogurt chocolate cheesecake.

TV Academy Performers Reception, partnership with Audi afterparty was at Wallis Annenberg Center for Performing Arts in Beverly Hills. Wine was served by Sterling Vineyards and Ferrari Trento. There was an Audi Party at Sunset Tower, they enjoyed champagne, sliders, spring rolls, garlic fries, cucumber slices with hummus, and chicken meatballs. They enjoyed salmon sashimi and handrolls in the poolside area.

Netflix afterparty was at Milk Studios in LA. They also met at Sarandos’ Hancock Park home, which was hosted by Ted Sarandos and Nicole Avant. Hors d’oeuvres included chicken sliders, steak kebobs, tomato and mozzarella sticks, croquettes, espresso cart of warm coffee drinks and full bar.

Creative Coalition’s Television Humanitarian Awards was at Ocean Prime in Beverly Hills. They enjoyed a 3-course meal with field greens house salad, an entrée of either teriyaki salmon, roasted chicken or linguine pasta (vegetarian). Dessert included either carrot cake or sorbet. There were also open bar and wine.

There were also others parties on other days—September 19, 20, and 21.

Due to WGA-ATA issues, which many agents were fired by over 7000 writers, agencies, such as CAA, WME, UTA, ICM Partners, Paradigm, and Gersh, cancelled their parties, but donated to MPTF Community Programs. Variety and Women in Film cancelled their party, but decided to donate to Planned Parenthood.
