The average life expectancy in the United States has fallen, the gap growing steadily since 1998.
Simply put, America doesn’t need strong. long lived people, active people. It needs slow moving, short living drones who do the boring work until replaced by machine.
Not unexpected, Obesity is a significant part of the declining life expectancy. Today, the average woman in America today weighs as much as the average man half a century ago. Men now weigh about 30 pounds more. An estimated 71.6 percent of the population ages 20 and older, are obese, according to the CDC.
Fat, slow moving people, suffering all sorts of fat related diseases are not likely to protest wars or injustice.
Simply put, America no longer needs healthy people. No longer wants intelligent active people who could question, protest, expose secrets.
What America wants are mindless followers who are more focused on their health problems then what is happening around them.
What a sad analysis – although I do not doubt its accuracy. It amazes me – as a Brit – that Americans eat such vast quantities of food (especially meat) which are consuming the world’s resources at an unsustainable rate.
Common sense surely dictates that eating less would be a win-win for everyone apart from the bloated plutocrats who make their fortunes from everyone’s else’s over-indulgence.
It is deliberate. It is a way to constain people from protesting, from reasoning, without overt government action.
In the 1960s/70s people would be marching in the street, having sit ins, rallies… consider as non-nonsensical the War in Vietnam, those in Afghanistan, Iraq, and wherever else the U.S. gets to, is so much stupider. Yet… where are the protests?
Americans are too fat, too stupefied to know what is happening in the world.
