I was about twenty, returning home from college, when I felt ‘big enough’ to have a real conversation with Miss Ellis.
I asked her about her life.
Without hesitation, she told me. There had been so much in her life, so many people, so many places, so many adventures.
She been to places I had read about, participated in events, even met famous people.
And remembered so much.
I could ask her about the assassination of John F. Kennedy, or when Apollo 11 went to the moon, or Woodstock. She knew these things, she had experienced them.
Always enjoyed talking to my grandmother.
Some times, people who were there, who experienced what we only read about are really eye opener.
