Herbert went to tell his son, Jeffery, that he was to marry the mother of his lover. Herbert though Jeff would be pleased.
Instead Jeff was angry.
He shouted, annoyed, spoke against the wedding. He was about to insult Judy when Herbert grabbed him.
“You will say nothing against her. Either you will come, or not come to the wedding. And you will not disrupt it. If you do, I will cut you out of my will.”
Saying that had Jeff do a pull back.
Herbert let him go of him, marched out of the room.
He could not but see the pattern. Herbert could not but review the impression he had gotten on the deck of the cruise ship.
Jeff’s purpose in life was to abuse his father.
Abuse in any form is very sad.
And there is a large swamp of parents who are abused by their children… usually emotionally, trying to make them feel guilty or responsible.
