Catching the Cords – Desireen – 2

There was a time when it was only Desireen and her mother.   Things were hard, sure, but she was ‘important’.

Her mother made sure to send her to school each day, Although she might not have lunch, she had books.

Then, when Desireen was ten, her mother married Drake.

Things seemed so much better as he brought money into the home. She wanted to love him as a daughter would.

In  six months  her first brother was born.  She was expected to help.  She was happy to.

She loved Danny.

Desireen was in High school, had almost completed her first year, when her second brother Clive was born.

It was then she found herself with most of the housework.
