Barry's Diaries – 56

That night Barry wrote in his Journal about alternatives.  He was beginning to understand that there are always alternatives which are not excuses.

He thought about his Nobarry life.  How he would take a seat and a bully would push him out, or he’d go to get on a bus and someone would push him off…

event after event that could have been avoided if he’d developed some alternative.

The situations weren’t the same, obviously, for he was Cool Barry now, but even so, the idea of having proactive alternatives was something he ought have considered..

Anything he didn’t like, want, be, he’d figure out some better idea and go for it.
