Once Sandy was able to uncover the foundation of her relationship with Nick, she began to view how he had manipulated her.
She was able to count the steps he took in the process of Abuse.
She recalled the marriage at the Registrar’s office, how they had moved in together, and how he made her cry.
Married a few weeks and he said words designed to cause her to cry. He said them in a soft superior way, as if by marrying her had done her a favour.
The way he spoke and then comforted her so confused that she didn’t know what had happened.
Sandy, looking back, now realises he had begun the abuse with emotion.
Emotional Abuse is usually the first step in the process of Domestic Violence.
I am not sure how logical I ever am.
Logic is an acquired skill. If you reflect on an incident that happened years ago, without emotional activation, you may see it differently.
Continuity is sometimes hard to keep over time.
One has to view events with a bit of distance and some logic
