Today was a unique day for photographing. I went out with a mission, instead of shooting the landscape, I was searching for textures. It is a new prospect I have been pursuing recently, a series of contemporary art pieces from the textures of nature.
Some of the photographs suit the idea of abstract and than others I’ve increased the color, the contrast or the texture in an effort to create an abstract piece that can be printed as artwork for home and office.
What is interesting to me , just like this challenge, I have been forced to see shapes and images in nature as more than what meets the eye. While I photograph on a day where the light is not optimal, I have to work that much harder to find an image.
Today, I shot when the light was at its worst and enjoyed finding textures that suddenly jumped out at every turn. I will continue to see the landscape as a multi-faceted place for inspiration and that has made all the difference.
I am selling the photography as prints and various products on Fine Art America.
