July 2018 was one of the wettest July’s ever in the DC area. More than four times normal. I wish, watching the news each night that we could ship ½of that falling water out west. The US West is being attacked by massive forest fires, and it is scary to watch. I could not imagine what it is like to be there in person. Because of all the rain, everywhere that is low ground is now threatened with flooding. Areas that haven’t had standing water in the summer now do. Of course, that means two things; standing water makes it hard to drive. Oh yeah, and the Mosquitos are out in force. More of them then is normally a considerable amount. Oh yeah, and what does the wettest July bring? So far a very wet August.
