It is now Christmas week, and afterwards, it will be New Year Eve Celebrations. The holidays are a time to spend with others, sharing, laughing, hanging out, and doing something fun. But what if you have nothing planned? It can be quite depressing. Moreover, the streets and freeways are always very busy during the holidays. It can get quite annoying. So, I suggest some ideas to turn the negatives into positives.
- Go on a local walking hike, whether street hiking or hill hiking. If you don’t have anyone to go with, then go with a pet, or even by yourself. It can be very meditative just to take a stroll and meditate on nature.
- Decorate your home. Put up a Christmas tree and some decorations. It will make you house inviting and fun, if you add some fun decorations and light by your doorsteps.
- Relax on the couch, sipping Passion Flower herb tea while listening to your favorite music.
- Thinking happy thoughts can start with reminiscing about the good times in the past. What was your most exciting and fun Christmas holiday? Did you go on a trip? Did you do something special? Who did you spend it with?
- Do an hour of yoga, whether at a gym, yoga studio, or at home.
- Go ice skating. (I want to go ice skating at the new temporary ice skating rink).
- Sing Christmas Carols, whether going door to door with a group, or singing songs by yourself at home.
- Dress up Glam and go out to the mall, window-shopping and people-watching
- Check out an art and culture show, such as Bolshoi Ballet, Opera, and/or classic music performance. I am considering going to Bolshoi Nutcracker Ballet, if it is still playing at a local theater. I would like to check out an opera show, as well.
- Go to a party, or put together your own party. It doesn’t have to be a big deal, but rather just a get together with a couple of your closest friends and/or family members. If you don’t know anyone, then go to a virtual reality game and party on the internet.
- Browse through magazines for inspiration and ideas.
- Chat with other people for ideas and share these ideas with others because it might improve someone else’s holiday.
- Go to a movie. I am considering, “I, Tonya” and the new Star Wars movie.
