Last night, my daughter and I lighted the candles for the souls of our relatives who already passed away. We prayed that they find eternal peace. We also prayed that they are with God. Also we prayed for the living. We prayed for our family, that God will always be the center our existence. We raised everything to God.
Candle lighting for the soul has been our tradition. Our folks been doing this long before I was born. If we cannot go to the cemetery to light the candles, we can do it at our home.
I have never understood what is stood for. Thank you for explaining.
