Today's Irony

Sunday, 3.15.20

Another beautiful day in my neighborhood. It felt like springtime, sunny skies, cool breeze, and some dispersed fluffy clouds smiling down at me from above. So, around 3 pm, I decided to go for a bike ride.

A couple of days ago, I accidentally broke my pyrex measuring cup. It was only for 1 cup, but I loved that measuring cup because I had it since the 80s. It has been with me for a long time. And, last week, when I was fixing my breakfast, I was moving things around on the counter, and it accidentally fell on the floor with a big cash. It was a shock, like losing an old friend. Today, since I only needed to buy one thing, I decided to go bike riding to Albertsons.

It was very quiet outside, but there were still occasional cars driving hither and thither. I noticed there were more skateboarders and bicycles. I went into Albertsons, and I noticed they had three sizes of the pyrex measuring cup as well as plastic version. I decided on 1 cup pyrex because I had recently bought a bigger one but plastic at the dollar store. And, the pyrex one is microwavable and dishwasher safe, which is like my old one. I rode back towards my home, but I decided to stop at the UTC for a while. I went inside Trader Joes, and I noticed that most of the shelves were empty. It looked scary and funny. There was barely anything to buy. I asked one of the stocking people, and he said that people have been buying many food items to stock up for the Coronavirus pandemic. The store is now understocked. Albertsons was fully stocked today. I walked outside, and I noticed more young Asians wearing masks over their nose and mouth. I rode my bicycle home. I decided to place my new measuring up into the dishwasher before I used it.
