Riding my Huffy Through UTC Memory Lane

Tuesday, 7.9.19

Since I didn’t feel like going to tonight’s TurtleRock Meetup, I decided to ride my huffy in my neighborhood and across the street. It was hot and sunny, but breezy, and I probably need the natural Vitamin D. I brought along a small water bottle, just in case I need to drink. At around 4:00 pm, it was quiet outside, probably because it is summertime, and most students went back home, unless maybe they have an off-campus apartment and a part-time job around here. I checked out the UTC area, which had UCI logos all over to promote the university across the street, separated by a walking bridge over the busy street.

I noticed many changes. 2 of the 3 boutiques closed down. The indie theatre is still under construction for remodeling. Breakfast Republic has replaced Veggie Grill. I check out their menu and notice they have some vegan dishes. I haven’t tried any yet. I browse in Trader Joe’s to see if they have something I am looking for. I should have bought it last time, but I forgot. I will buy it next time. I also notice a new kickboxing gym. I would like to try it sometime in the future for fun. I wonder how much it costs. I decide to ride back home on a different route.

I arrived home a little sweaty. I decided to eat my dinner and drink more water with apple cider vinegar.

As I took a stroll through the University Town Center, I reminisced all the changes that have occurred since the 80s. I liked the old theater because it is small, cozy, and vintage, but I think they will modernize it to fit Irvine’s image.
