Young kids learn a lot just by watching you. You generally don’t sit down and teach them how to use a cell phone or a tablet. They watch and imitate your actions. The same holds true in the pool. How often do your children see you put your face in the water? How often do they see you go swimming? What are you teaching them when you’re not trying to teach them anything?
In the above video, I show how to “hold your breath” by relating it to several out of water activities. There’s not a lot of dialog. I’m basically just showing my young viewers that it’s okay to put your face in the water, and trying to introduce them to this underwater world.
yea”!
Me and my children are “fish.” I miss our old home and back yardpool. They were early swimmers.
I accept that children imitate.
Cool stuff, I don’t even last a second holding my breath.
