The lines are being used to create linear structures which softens or lessens the prominence of the identity of the individual. In other words, trying to make the portrait less interest promoting. Well, that is what the shy and paranoid person would say. This person is most likely suffering from the damage generated by misunderstood social elements which have become pressure points.
