The last known painting of Skler Blue

The sound

explosion

of horses hooves

metal shoes smashing

into the ground

a sound

rumbling

as if from the sky.

The painter paused

the dark paint tempered with strokes

of light

that following the line of horses

rolled as if through the air

nothing to stop the change.

Each crashing hoof

filling the space

each paint stoke

alternating dark and light

broad brush strokes that

mirrored the sound

of exploding hoofs.

No edges for

a frame

the artist

continues to paint

further and further away

the hoofs following

fading

and all then is quiet

with flecks of dark

and light.

What do you think?
