The Fake Retreat

Influenced by one of the favorite tactics of Genghis Khan.     This image is partially a thought and an enjoyment for me.  It was a thrill and challenge to  render the line on the surface of the paper. The swirling of the line to express the dynamic linear energy  has an attraction all its own.    The thought of this tactic has a certain fascinating  attraction. The Mongol horseman pretending to retreat while in fact, he and his comrades are just luring the enemy into a trap,   The tactic has had variations throughout history but it is also present in everyday social life. I don;t really  need to expand on this.  This work is a watercolor on paper.   18 x 24 inches. Or 46 x 61 cm.
