The Bugler Watercolor
This is another watercolor rendition from the Civil War series I created. I love the way brass reflects and shines as well as the gold cord. Also I’m so in love with color and that of the bright reds and blues of the flag make me happy. I created the background by using several washes of color. First a wash of green. When that was dry, I layered a layer of blue and next one of indigo and purple. These layers are translucent, meaning that the light shines through all and they can all be seen in different intensities depending on the richness of the value. I like to work this way in watercolor so that I get deep rich colors.
What do you think?
I have an inclination to paint especially this medium, water color. When I was a kid, I love playing my water color bought my late mother to me. But that desire had faded. It hadn’t been developed.
There is no time like the present to pick it up again. There is so much joy in petting the paper with paint. The colors are like a feast for the eyes. Thanks for commenting.
You watercolors are amazing. I hope you are well rewarded for the Talent you have.
Think there are personal rewards and monetary rewards. I have the former in heaps and not so much the latter. However I never stop trying for both. Thanks for commenting.
