with eyes open
lips ajar
ears flushed
arms taut
legs straight
hairs well bunned
and a posture
to shame a colonel.
Yet no sounds
or audibles ever came
yet the message
was sent
and caught by me;
I looked at her firm smile
chasing her lips
to the depths of her dimples
her gaze was firm
like a laser from her’s to mine
and we got locked
and stayed thus for eternity minutes
then she relaxed
her smile broadening
with her infection carrying on to me
I never knew
she was so resolute
in her affections
