This is one of my older poems but still loving it…
It’s hard to concentrate
On those daily duties
When the mind keeps
Drifting…
Browsing through old photos
Listening to old time classics
The mind keeps
Drifting, drifting….
To days long past
A careless youth
A careless love
When the heart knew no pain… Yet
Maybe it’s the weather
Raindrops reflecting tears
The mind keeps
Drifting, drifting…
Do you still remember me
Like I remember you
Maybe I’m just being silly
Nostalgia keeps getting the better of me
I love this piece. I feels more like lyrics to a song. But then again music is poetry in motion. Poetry is the verbal expression of music.
That’s very true. Thank you so much for the huge compliment Bradley.
I can really relate to your poem. I often wonder about those I used to be close to. I wonder how we differ in our memories of the times we spent together.
We are who we are because of the memories that shaped us. Thank you very much for commenting Barbara.
How can I forget you?
even if I could, I did not want it.
then, thank you for remembering me
through this beautiful poem.
(Now let me laugh in happiness
because it has been allowed to represent him)
You do it so well. Of course you’re allowed to represent him.
So hopefully those words are stored in your heart forever… hehe…
lovely poem…………….
Thank you so much Branka 😉
Really interesting play with words. The images are of loss and pain and the poem ends with sadness. But, there is a glimmer of the person beginning to realize that it may be an issue they can move past. Well done@
Thank you very much Doc. Your analysis is spot on 😉
Thank you for your kindness. I am still not entering the drawing challenge 🙂
Hehehe. Don’t worry Doc. I won’t force you.
I will remember that Della~!
I am glad you like it. Thank you very much 😉
