Cuneiform Tablet at the Museum of Fine Arts

Here in the St Pete Museum of Fine Arts in Saint Petersburg, Florida we find a Babylonian Cuneiform Tablet from 2100 BC (yes, 4000 years old). This clay tablet had the triangular indentations that in this case were administrative with lists of goods and their quantities. I would love to be able to read the script.

  1. I learned this language (Akkadian/Babylonian) at university. The script is difficult as each sign represents an idea in a similar way as Chinese, so there is no actual alphabet but thousands of different signs!
