Writing on the Pediment of the Lincoln Birthplace Memorial

We are at the Abraham Lincoln National Historic Park in Hogenville, Kentucky observing the beautiful stone building that houses the birthplace log cabin symbol of Lincoln.  At the outside top of the building it says: “Here Over the Cabin Where Abraham Lincoln Was Born, Destined to Preserve the Union, Free the Slave, A Grateful People Have Dedicated this Memorial to Unity, Peace and Brotherhood Among These States“.  Below that it says “With Malice Towards None and Charity for All“.
