Sofia Synagogue.
It is located in the center of the city.
It was built in 1909 designed by the famous Austrian architect Friedrich Grünanger that takes a model synagogue in Vienna, later destroyed by the Nazis.
It is the largest on the Balkan Peninsula and 3rd in Europe (after the synagogues in Budapest and Amsterdam).
It can accommodate over 1,000 people in the main room (for men) and on the inner balconies (where women are praying).
The church is Sofia looks beautiful.
The main religion in Bulgaria is Orthodox Christianity, but there are other religions.
Yes, there are many beautiful churches, but this building is remarkable for its architecture.
Thank you for correcting me on this blog. I agree with you that the church building is simply the most beautiful church I saw seen.
beautiful photo. anyway, is this open for non-Jews. I went inside a synagogue in Lithuania, it’s so beautiful
I did not enter the synagogue and admit I did not check if the entrance was free…
What a stunning photo Georgi. Wow!
Thanks! Prepare other photos from other buildings.
