The Chinese are very creative and had invented lots of “internet slangs”…
I’ve recently get in touch with a Chinese words that is mentioned very frequently in Chinese variety shows… It’s called “开车” … the word actually means, to drive (a car).
However on the internet (and the variety shows) it actually have another meaning … It means “to share (resources or experience)”. It is usually pair with “老司机” which means “old(experienced) driver” and in this case, it usually means someone with experience in certain areas, like experts.
I’ve no idea why they choose driving to descrive sharing of experience, could it be because taxi drivers always have much to share?
