The role of a bus driver gets ignored by the national press unless a bus driver gets involved in a bus accident that causes a lot of injuries or a loss of life.
This blog about Lake Highland Elementary School Bus Driver Curtis Jenkins who had a chat with all of the riders in his bus route of what gift did they want for Christmas.
Even though the salary of a bus driver is not exactly one to say that Curtis could buy all of the gifts that his riders wanted since he is not a millionaire, Curtis made a deal with his wife Shaneqia that neither one of them were going to buy each other Christmas gifts for this year.
What happened next is that Curtis and his wife combined their salaries as well as donations from the charity site GoFundMe.com, Curtis was able to complete the mission of buying all of the gifts that he promised all of his riders in the Dallas Metropolitan area in time for Christmas.
Curtis insisted that he only kept his promise to buy gifts for all of his riders as an act of kindness and not to be a show off to impress people close to him.
It did help when the local television stations in the Dallas Fort Worth region that broadcasted the news that Curtis was on a mission to buy the Christmas toys for his riders.
To put it mildly, all of the riders who received their Christmas gifts were happy that their bus driver played the role of Santa Claus for them this year and for many years to come.
Even in our country, we have a bus driver who helps the children … Every year they take them to the sea
I hope there are followers in this noble cause. Not everything is measured with money.
You are correct since Curtis wants people to follow his example to help others in need.
I hope there are followers in this noble cause.
how sweet…. this brings back the worth of humanity.
Curtis did this kind deed to show love for his community and not to be a celebrity even though the local news stations In the Dallas-Fort Worth area did shine a spotlight on his kind deeds to his riders.
I am touched by his deeds. It is amanifestation that there are still many good men on earth.
Curtis insisted that he did his job as a way to give back to his community out of love and not to be in the spotlight.
