This story is living proof of the slogan “Never give up.” Bambi who at the time when she ran away from the home Bradley Wieferich in 2014 from her home in Lansing Michigan was presumed by the Weiferich family to be either deceased or adopted by another family.
However Bambi had a microchip placed on her so it would make it easier for a veterinarian to be able to locate the owner of the lost dog.
Where Bambi went in the four years of her absence from her home in Lansing Michigan remains a mystery.
About one week ago, a Toledo Police Officer was able to find Bambi wandering in a city neighborhood. The police officer took Bambi to the Lucas County Canine Care & Control when an employee found the microchip on Bambi four years after she ran away from home.
Bradley got the greatest news of his life about one week ago when he was informed by employees at the animal shelter that his beloved dog was found safe and sound.
Bradley and his family then traveled 100 miles to retrieve his beloved Bambi after she went AWOL for four years which must have been an eternity for the Wieferich family.
Even though Bambi lost weight during her four year adventure, she was able to recognize her owner and his relatives.
Even though the slogan is “Elephants never forget.” Dogs are great knowing who is their master who loves them dearly.
A little bit bittersweet, I hope she’s happy and healthy now.
The dog will be happy once again with her owners.
Adore such stories, they always bring light to our lives!!!
I really enjoying sharing them on this site as well.
One wonders what that dog was doing that it ended up so far away
The dog probably received food and drinks from concerned persons while she was lost.
Happy ending provided by advanced technology!
That is very true since technology has its good works.
Technology is amoral, neither good nor bad. We are good or bad by our usage of technology…
Thank you tasartcraft for your kind comments.
