Instagram Advice, Tips and Trick for Newbie Users

I always wanted to set up an Instagram because in my other social circles there were lots of great shares and the source of those shares was somebody’s Instagram.  However, I use a laptop instead of a phone or tablet and was told that I couldn’t.  One day I signed into my Facebook account and in my messages, one of my FB friends had sent me an invitation to join Instagram.  I quickly accepted and created my account and soon realized that I could not use it.  Why? No mobile device.  But guess what? Found a Google Chrome extension called “Desktop for Instagram”.  Once again the tech gods smiled on me.

#1 Now that I have Instagram what am I gonna do with it? LOL.

OK!  Now that I set up an Instagram what's the obvious next step?  Learn how to use it!  Since I am learning how to get the most from my Instagram account, might as well share the advice, and tips with others.  Savvy IG users probably already know.  But the newbies IG users should find them helpful.

    • Cool! Don’t forget to update your Virily profile with your public social media links. If you have any that is. Some people are on social media but they keep their SM accounts private. The links on my profile are all public.

    • On the Google Chrome browser, there are 3 dots lined up vertically in the right-hand corner. Click on it and go down to “More Tools” and then “Extensions”. Scroll down the page to “Get More Extensions”. Search for “Desktop for Instagram” and then install it on your browser. I connected my IG account to my Facebook. That way when I sign into my Facebook, I can click the IG icon on my toolbar and sign in to my IG account.

I am not able to send messages VIA my Instagram account. (OR If I can I don’t know how. (O.o)) I can only type comments on your images, tweet or share posts via Facebook. It seems the Desktop for Instagram is not exactly the same as using a real IG mobile app. But it suits my purposes.
