These are forest ants, big black ants that can really give you a bite! From afar, they’re quite cute as the carry food to their nest, but you do not want to step in their way. They will climb you like a tree (pictured) and pinch you a few times. Repeatedly.
Getting bit by an ant is worse than being scratched by a cat.
Auch… auch…. auchhhh…. I had creeps made!
Yikes, I would stay out of their way.
