The two polar extremities are portrayed in this Mandala they are both cold and largely inhospitable for both man and beast. What more desolate and fitting a place could there be for a region called hell? What more desolate a condition could there be than absolute social isolation, you are a citizen of the world but without that mark, you might as well be an alien from a distant galaxy. What are you supposed to do when when your best friend is your mortal enemy ?

Why does the Mandela mean Heaven and Hell? I always thought of Heaven as pure white and Hell as angry red. This mandela is beautiful blue and Sun yellow.
