Banana chips are made from unripe bananas and here again there is a particular variety that is used. Kerala is known for this snack.
I remember visiting there and I was told to pick some stuff from a particular vendor who prepared the chips then and there. The chips that he made were thin as the onion skin and that made them special.
You can get plain, salted and sugar coated. The best is salted. I have seen how they are made The oil is heated and a spoon of salt water is add and then the slices are deep fried.
When it rains outside nothing like munching on banana chips with a hot cup of tea

Wow!! So you do get unripe bananas. I did not know about it.
We buy them already dried and they are usually plain and unsalted. When you make them, do you use ripe ones or slightly green?
The bananas are well season but not ripe
