This is one of the very first daylilies I got; a Stella de Oro, which makes one of the smaller flowers in the lily family.
This lily had multiple blooms earlier this summer and has just put out new buds for another round of beautiful flowers. It doesn’t look like there will be as many as the first go round, but a second round is always welcome!
I have added many colors and varieties of day lilies to my collection this year. I can’t wait to share all the blooms with you. Day lilies are one of my favorite flowers. The only downfall is the blooms only last for one day, hence their name: Day Lilies.
Do you have day lilies in your garden? What varieties and colors do you have?

Such gorgeous lilies, and the name Stella de Oro fits perfectly.
They are indeed pretty and the name is unique! I always wonder how they come up with the names!
Sorry so late in seeing your post. I have these yellow ones and the big pirate lilies. They are all gone for this year.
I have some of the ones I got in early July still blooming. I have a new Lauren Leah bloom today. I have another new shipment to plant today! I’m fixing to go tackle that little project! What color is the pirate lily?
I do not have a garden and I do not know a lot about flowers. (almost nothing to be honest) but I like how roses smell and how the flower you depict looks.
Thank you. I am more or less learning as I go. My grandfather used to raise camelias. I can’t wait to share some of those flowers with you this fall/winter.
Yes, I want to see your camelias. I will see these new articles in the fall. But I will wait a little bit to submit new posts because of the delay they are having recently here on Virily.
Beautiful lilies. Unfortunately, I haven’t had one-day lilies in my garden yet.
The sad thing about them is the blooms only last one day. Such beautiful flowers!
of course as close to LSU colors as one can get.
nice!
Yes Geaux Tigers! Still waiting to see if we are really going to have football this year! Oh, and purple lilies are also here! Just waiting for them to bloom! We may have to wait until next Spring on all these new ones.
to use a Cincinnati phrase geez oh pete, you love your tigers!
