At UFC Fight Night in the Apex Center in Las Vegas, Tyson Nam only needed about thirty seconds to knockout Zarrukh Adashev in a bantamweight (135 lbs) division bout.
Normally, Nam fights in the flyweight (125 lbs) division, but decided to take the fight against Adashev at the higher weight in order to get a fight in after the coronavirus postponement.
Nam wasted no time in attacking Adashev, who weighed in 2 1/2 pounds overweight for the fight. Adashev, who is also a professional kickboxer, threw out a lazy low kick. A feeling-out low kick is great in a kickboxing match, but you cannot get away with that in mixed martial arts. Nam threw the classic textbook overhand right that ended the fight. That lazy kick shows why Adashev missed weight. He did not put in the time to lose weight in training, which led to the poor decision in the fight.
