I hope that you enjoyed yesterday’s matches in the German Bundesliga because there will be a Sunday tripleheader on Fox Sports 1 (FS1). Here is the schedule.
FC Augsburg at Schalke 04 – 7:30 AM EST.
Red Bull Leipzig at Mainz 05 – 9:30 AM EST.
Fortuna Dusseldorf 1895 at FC Koln – 12:00 PM EST.
Although these three games are not marquee match-ups, they all have major significance in the standings. Augsburg and Mainz 05 desperately need wins since they are only four points away from the relegation zone. Dusseldorf could almost be out of the relegation zone because they are the team that is four points behind Augsburg and Mainz 05.
FC Koln (pronounced like cologne) can smell good again with a victory. A win would put Koln in ninth place. Schalke 04 can take advantage of losses by Freiburg and Wolfsburg yesterday to move into sixth place, which is the final qualifying spot to appear in the Europa League next season.
Red Bull Leipzig currently sit in fifth place. A win would propel Leipzig into third place and back into a place to qualify for the Champions League next season. A loss or a tie would mean that RBL would not have a chance to win the Bundesliga title.
