It is our terrace view The sun was at its ‘Sunday best’ – that is how it looks this part of the year. What baffles me is where that ‘red ball’ came from. Could it be the sun? I am flabbergasted.
The photo shows part of our terrace garden and a view beyond covering our trees on the ground below and those of our neighbours.
Our terrace lawn is growing well and quite bouncy. It is a pleasure to walk on it It is supposed to be good for health walking barefoot on a bouncy lawn.

Would you know what that red ball in the photo is?

I read the commentary on Ileana Calotescu. She gave you a comprehensive answer. Occasionally smaller red spots on the picture are smaller.
I am happy with this phenomenon
It is a lens flare. Lens flare is a photography term. It happens because of the strong light (light is scattered or flared in a lens system)
Thanks for that. I clicked many this morning but only this photo has that red ball.
It doesn’t always appear. It appears depending on the angle the light reaches the lens
Although I am surprised in a way am happy to see that ball (lol)
Wow, now I have learned something new today and I am greatful to you. I always strive to learn at least one new thing a day!
I too learn from everyone including my pets (lol)
You have an amazing view.
Thanks. I do have a great view
Does the red ball show up only in the photo? Or is it there physically?
Only in the photo and that is why I am confused (lol)
That is very strange. Maybe it is a “reflection” of the sun? There are very weird things that even today we can’t explain about the world.
As you can see it is beyond the terrace and in the sky almost.
