We were walking through the lake when my husband noticed that on the far side right in the middle of the man made island there was a huge bird the size of a young chicken. I looked at this bird through my lens and I saw him gobbling a snake. I knew pictures may not be great as it had to be taken through the lake fence at a distance and my lens was not equipped for that. I also did not carry my tripod, even if I had the bird would have swallowed the snake by the time I set it up. I just had to depend on my steady hands and click away at the bird and here is the result.
I decided that this is the right picture for the Nature Tuesday challenge. Scenes like these make me want to invest heavily on good equipment, yet it is not high on my life’s priority list. We have responsibilities and any heavy investment now on other things wouldn’t help really.
However, I am happy that you can do your best with what you have. I push my limits to do the best I can every day. I go to bed satisfied that I was able to do at least somethings well.

Your picture is great. I don’t have expensive equipment either. I make most of the pictures with a smartphone.
Thank you Vidocka, that is the challenge, being able to make the best use of what you have.
From a distance it reminds me of a bird eating a worm. Great shot.
Only difference was this was a five foot long yellow snake 😀
What a great capture!
Thank you Ellie, the challenge is always exciting.
These are difficult moments to catch. Congratulations on this photo.
Coming from an excellent photographer I take it as a great compliment. Thank you.
