Now here is some good news from China for a change! Pandas climb using their heads in a similar way that baby kangaroos do when they are climbing into their mother’s pouch.
The pandas need to be able to climb fast into a tree to get away from predators. Zoo pandas also climb in this way.
We need to study captive pandas in order to know if they have the skills to make it in the wild, if they can be released.
Most pandas in China live in Chung do, and are in a Panda reserve. If you want to visit a panda, you have to dress up in a panda suit, because the keepers don’t want the pandas to get used to seeing humans.

I actually went to the National zoo to see the pandas when they first came to the United States in 1976. It eas a big celebration! But I don’t have any pictures of that event.
the Washington DC zoo has such an enclosure for Pandas. Based on the agreement with China, they must release all pandas born at the zoo to the wild by their 4th birthday.
That would be funny if people dressed up as pandas at our zoo to visit them. Thank you for sharing that information with us.
