I was nearly home after taking the dog for her walk this morning when I came across the spectacle of a chalet bungalow being pulled and pushed through our village.
It had been delivered on a low-loader to one of the few places in the village where the road was wide enough to unload it without blocking the traffic completely. It then had to be taken through some of the narrowest lanes to where it was wanted – a development of low-rent chalet homes towards the edge of the village.
I had time to nip home for my camera before catching up with it as it was nearly at its destination, having caused a certain amount of chaos in the meantime! It now had to be swung round to the right into the entrance you can just see in the photo – without hitting any parked cars in the process!
This is the second chalet home to be delivered in two days – another one is due tomorrow, which is “bin day”. Getting one of these through the village at the same time as the bin lorries could be hilarious!
My grandfather used to sell modular homes many years ago. It is really cool to see them put both halves together!!!
nice shot glad you had time to nip home!
It must be a house on wheels – could I be wrong?
Once on site the wheels are boxed in, as it is not intended that it should move again.
