Several years ago I worked in an accounting department for a savings and loan association. Once a week a group from the office would go out to lunch at a local restaurant. We liked the local restaurant not so much for the lunch meal, but for its appetizers. We would order platters full of fried onion rings, fried zucchini, and fried mushrooms.
I’ve never tried them but my son says he craves fried pickles. (O.o) (Believe it or not. You don’t have to fry them. You can actually bake them in an oven. Shhh … Recipe for Oven-Fried Pickles.)
Have you ever tried a fried Twinkie? No? Me neither. I have to draw the line somewhere. LOL.
Why is fried food so much fun? Is it the crunch? Is it because you can usually pick it up with your fingers and dunk it or dip it? Is it because it’s “friendly”’,i.e. a fun food you often enjoy during a casual gathering with friends?
Healthwise, it’s probably best not to consume too much fried food. But it might be OK to treat yourself to a guilty pleasure every now and then. Besides, these days they have air fryers and that practically erases all of the guilt. LOL. Creative Ways to Use an Air Fryer.

I am a foodie and I like most foods but do try to stay from deep fried stuff
What is pictured in the image on the very top of this discussion? Reminds me of a donut but don’t think that is it.
That’s an image of fried pineapple slices. Although it looks cookies. Doesn’t it?
we started making our favorites in the air fryer. You get the crunchy but you don’t get the fat!
I have yet to hear anybody complain about using an air fryer. They are really a game-changer in the kitchen.
they really are a game-changer! the only fried food that hasn’t turned out amazing is the Benet’s we made.
