Joe Schilling (23-9 kickboxing record) is one of the most exciting kickboxers in the world at this moment.  However, his transition to mixed martial arts (MMA) has not gone as well.  In Friday’s Bellator MMA middleweight (185 lbs) clash at Pechanga Resort & Casino in Temecula, CA against Tony Johnson (9-2), Johnson was able to knock out Schilling with a scintillating left counter hook that left Schilling unconscious in the 3rd round.

If you watch the above clip, Schilling threw a straight right hand and moved in to throw another punch.  However, Johnson was able to throw the left hook around the right arm of Schilling for the KO.  In kickboxing, that counter would not have happened due to the larger gloves that are used, but in MMA, the smaller glove is able to find its target from non-conventional angles.  Schilling should strictly focus on kickboxing.
