The vast golf course

When I was young, I thought all along that the golf course is just bigger than a football field where the players can play 18 holes of golf. It didn’t occur to me that a golf course is a vast land with manicured lawns, sand traps and man-made ponds not to mention the trees that add a refreshing decoration to the sight.

The vast golf course and the expensive maintenance is the main reason why playing golf is not cheap. Understandably, the sport of golf is only for the wealthy. In fairness to the sport, golf tournaments have big prizes although the bigger the prize, the stiffer is the competition. And the prizes are only for the professional golfers which means an amateur can win a tournament but not the prize money.
