Every year at Christmas there is a new cultivar of poinsettia that is sold at sky high prices. A few years ago it was the hot pink variety which was popular, last year we saw pink blushes like the one in the thumb nail. However this year’s cultivar was nothing like a poinsettia. I really had to look closely to know that I was looking at a new cultivar.
The traditional red poinsettias seem to have taken a back seat. However, I always wonder how they do this. Creativity in producing plants has just reached another level. I also saw some tiny pomegranates, which are purely ornamental having fruits the size of raisins. Pretty as they are I wonder where we are going.
This year the poinsettia was a weird color, it was neither yellow or orange or peach it was almost like pale burnt peach.
