There were about 60 plants in my tiny balcony and many of them were orchids. Blooms , enjoying the sun and dappled light from the trees in our neighborhood. Sadly all of them died one after the other after we moved to our new home. All my efforts to change their place, give them a better environment didn’t help.
I have wanted to bring back the same environment here so I can slowly introduce orchids in my pergola. Somehow That I can’t seem to get that right. The west facing pergola and the blazing afternoon heat are enough to kill any plant , let alone orchids. I have tried screens but they seem to dim the charm of the pergola. I grow the clematis vine but they are drying up there. I will keep trying until have something like the one I have in that picture.
Orchids are too fussy, but once they are settled they can make each day special for you .

I wish to get them all back.
Orchids are among my favorite plants. I also have problems growing orchids, they are very difficult to survive.
They are indeed fussy plants but once they have found their favorite spot they do well.
I’ve bought a lot of them and they all die …. they are very demanding flowers … but they are beautiful flowers
Yeah they are kind of tough for beginners like us.
I say that they are as capricious as women. But I like them a lot.
