I told you about this sculpture of Brancusi, in a previous post. Today I just want to show you the black and white version.Inaugurated on October 27, 1938, the column has a height of 29.35 meters and is composed of 16 superposed octahedral modules, respectively having at the lower and upper extremities one half of the module. The modules were called “beads” by their author, Brancusi. It stands in Târgu Jiu Romania, as a memorial for the young Romanian soldiers who died defending the town against German forces in the First World War.In the 1950s, the Romanian communist government planned to demolish the column, but fortunately this plan was never executed.

How wonderful this was not demolished. Magnificent is what this is, wow!
It was really good luck. They tried several times but failed. The communists destroyed many national values.
What a beautiful contrast! No wonder why Brancusi called these modules “beads”. This column looks like a beaded string toward the sky.
I must agree it looks wonderful in Black and White.
