I understand that making crafts can be fun and relaxing. However, I was asked to join in a project I could not support. It was not that it was morally wrong, too time consuming or useless (well maybe useless); it just seemed stupid.
They were putting “rag balls” in bowls for decorations. They were cutting up brand new material into strips to wrap around a a tennis ball to put in a bowl. I assume to collect dust.

It is a very interesting post on this site.
What did you find interesting about it Deepizzaguy?
That some people use rag balls for some strange reason.
With so many people out there who can’t afford clothing, I’m thinking that it is rather a waste to cut up perfectly good and new fabric.
I agree. If you insist on making rag balls they should be made of rags.
Ella volunteers to work each week at the local clothing bank. The number of people who come in each week for clothing is surprising, considering that there are only around 1,000 people in the entire valley. I think that people who make rag balls might think twice if they volunteered time to work in a clothing bank.
