When I was in grade school, my father planted corn in our front yard. At first I didn’t mind because I was not a gardener yet at that time. We were asked to help in the planting so I know how to make a small hole where we would drop 3 kernels. Watering the covered holes was easy with a hose. When the corn plant grew, it was getting beautiful to look at. And then the flowers came out. Unfortunately we had no camera yet.
When the flowers started to shed, there appeared the small ears of corn. In a few weeks, the ear got big and later on harvested. That was the fun part of planting corn – the harvesting and the eating.
