Our dog was constipated

After experiencing severe constipation, the vet came and our dog underwent the enema procedure. It was a long procedure that you can expect a hefty professional fee. But it is not the money that we are thinking. Why did our dog have that constipation that would need assistance from the enema procedure.

I bought papaya and gave it to our dog via the syringe. It has a little sugar so the taste is very welcome to our dog. On the next day there was no more constipation. Now we are giving our dog 10 ml of papaya puree every other day.
