In my younger days fashion was uppermost in my mind. I had so many folding umbrellas that went with my clothes. They often overturned with the breeze and I put up with it. After all for youngsters fashion takes precedence over everything else. Not any more.
With age I have realised being practical is the order of the day I have given away all those folding umbrellas to youngsters around and gone in for what is meant to be used by men. The umbrella that I now own is sturdy and can withstand heavy breeze. It is also easier to open and close unlike the folding umbrella.
Men are more practical and that is what I have noticed.

I now only have a gent’s umbrella.
