LED candles

The glow that you see on our altar is of LED candles that were gifted to us.  They do not need electricity nor do the candles get used up. 

We only light them when there is an occasion and this time it was during the blessing of the house.  Just before lent the parish priest visits all houses and blesses those in the house and sprinkles holy water in every room. 

This custom has been going on for years. I remember how as a child we would expectantly wait for the priest who used to be treated to high tea.  Whatever was left out was then given to us kids.
