Learning martial arts

Martial arts is for self-defense and not for fighting even if there are professional tournament for such sports. The discipline of martial arts is the strengthening of the mind in coordination with the body. That coordination can be very useful when you are evading something like a punch or a kick.

For children, martial arts like karate can give confidence not only in fighting but even in the classroom. It is common to be scared of reciting in class but a martial arts student can do it easily because of the learning. The confidence he learns from the martial arts lessons provides him the courage to face adversities and one adversity is reciting in class.
